Back to full attack for Simon Reicher in Most

Austrian driver Simon Reicher has big plans for the coming weekend. Just a few days ago, his season-opener in the ADAC TCR Germany at Oschersleben ended with a scary moment. He lost control over his Audi RS3 LMS during the first lap of the final race and was forced to retire. “That was a weekend to forget. Not only did I throw myself out of the race, I also took out some innocent competitors. I hope I won’t relive an incident and feelings like that again”, the youngster reported still visibly emotional a few days after the race.

“I am very familiar with Most from my season in the Renault Clio Cup. I enjoy the track – with its fast and slow corners, it offers everything a great circuit needs”, the 18-year-old explains. Since 1983, the 4,148 meter long Czech Autodrom has been regarded as the Mecca of motorsport in the surrounding region. Situated just a few kilometers South of Dresden and a stone’s throw away from Prague, the organizers are expecting full grand stands. As usual, the TCR Germany will take place in the supporting program of the ADAC GT Masters. “It’s always a great experience to race on such traditional, historic circuits”, Simon Reicher reports. But before the Kirchberg-native and his team YACO Racing from Saxony travel to the Czech Republic, they must first get his Audi RS3 back into shape. “I created quite a pile of work for my team. Despite only having a few days between the race weekends, I am certain they will do a fantastic job. Already on Sunday evening after the race in Oschersleben, a chassis expert inspected my Audi in the garage. Monday brought positive news: although the car got banged up on all four sides, the damage was not as bad as we initially feared. The Audi is currently being rebuilt and will be back on track in Most this weekend”, the eighth-grade student of the Werkschulheim High School is relieved.

The expectations for Most are high – Simon Reicher and his team already demonstrated they are capable of racing in the top 5 in Oschersleben. The goal is set. Time to make winter’s promising and hard work a successful reality. “I am fully aware that we were among the fastest in Oschersleben, but just didn’t bring home the results. It’s time to come back with full attack in Most and I am sure I can count on my team. Perhaps the incident in Oschersleben was simply something I had to experience at some point or another”, the youngster reflects.

The ADAC TCR Germany will start with its first free practice on Friday, April 27, at 9 AM. All races on Saturday and Sunday will be broadcast live in TV on Sport 1 and streamed online at sport1.de http://sport1.de/.
