In a few days, the young Austrian Simon Reicher finally starts his ADAC GT Masters Season. The first race weekend will take place in Oschersleben from April 26 to April 28. On a scale from 1 to 10, how nervous is the Kirchberger? „To be honest with you I am not really nervous. But I am really excited. I cannot wait to see what is going to happen. It is definitely special to be part of such a big event. Last season I only saw it from the outside, when I was an ADAC TCR Germany driver“, the 19-year-old gives away. He also isn’t overanxious about the race itself because to him it is actually like any other race.

So did the ninth grader of the Private Secondary School Felbertal practice in a specific way for his first ADAC GT Master race? „I have already started in the Creventic Series. You have the GT3-rhythm there as well – with qualifying, starting a race, etc. For me it was just a normal preparation“, Simon reveals. Nevertheless, he cannot wait to try out the new racing series with a GT3 car. „That is definitely going to be amazing. For the first time in my life I only compete with real professionals“, the Austrian explains happily.

Does Simon have any special expectations regarding his debut in the league of super sports cars in Oschersleben? „It would be great, if we could land a place in the middle of the field between place 15 and 20“, the T3 Motorsport pilot comments. It would also be seen as a success when all the team processes and technical factors work properly. „We shouldn’t forget that I drive for a new team. At the moment we have to still figure out how everything works together in the best way possible. It is only a logic result that we are in a different place than teams that have already collected a lot of experience during years and years in the ADAC GT Masters. We should always keep that in mind. We will still need some time to find our own routine“, he reports. Regardless, he feels that he is in good hands at T3 Motorsport.

He shares an Audi R8 LMS with his teammate from T3 Motorsport – Maximilian Paul. Simon overwhelmed with joy: „The most exciting thing is that my GT3 dream comes true. To be able to drive an Audi R8 LMS is simply indescribable. That was always my goal.“ Simon will have his first free practice for T3 Motorsport on Friday at 11.55 am. The races from Saturday and Sunday can be watched at Sport1 and on the ADAC website.
